Point Alegre Water Services (PAWS) mission is to protect the residents and environment of the communities it serves by providing high quality water services.
PAWS operates in the Northern coast of Belize in Lowry's Bight on the Bay of Chetumal. Lowry's Bight is home to Jaguar, Ocelot, Toucan, Loggerhead Turtle, and other beautiful species that must be protected. Environmentally friendly communities such as Orchid Bay are being developed in this region so people can enjoy the natural beauty of Belize.
PAWS employs advanced and environmentally safe technology for water management.
Drinking Water - As with many coastal regions, the fresh water aquifer in Lowry's Bight is limited and must be preserved. PAWS uses a Reverse Osmosis system to purify water to provide residents with safe and fresh tasting water. Water samples are taken regularly to test the purity of the water, these samples are sent to the Belize Department of the Environment for testing.
Waste Water - In coastal areas the land has a limited ability to absorbe and filter waste water. Without proper treatment the land will become saturated with waste, endangering the environment and generating odors. PAWS uses an Alternate Treatment System (ATS) from Orenco Wastewater Solutions to treat all waste to the highest standards and disperses treated affluent to green spaces.
PAWS is a division Point Alegre Development Ltd, a Great Land Holdings LP company.
